FAQ

ORDER INFORMATION

Do I need to add a rug pad to my order?

Yes! We highly recommend adding a rug pad to your order for several reasons:

  • Prevents Slipping: Keeps your rug securely in place, especially on hardwood or tile floors.

  • Protects Your Floors: Acts as a cushion between your rug and the floor, preventing scratches and wear.

  • Extends Rug Life: Reduces friction and absorbs impact, helping your rug maintain its shape over time.

  • Adds Comfort: Provides extra cushioning underfoot, making your rug feel even more luxurious. Our super secure rug pads are specifically designed to work with our hand-knotted rugs. They are available in various sizes and can be easily trimmed for a custom fit.

What’s the difference between Made to Order and In Stock rugs?

At Locust Lane Rugs, we offer both Made to Order and In Stock rugs to suit different needs.

In Stock Rugs:

  • Ready to ship – Ships within 10 business days of ordering.

  • Limited availability – Once sold out, these designs may not be restocked.

  • Perfect for quick refreshes – Ideal if you need a rug sooner rather than later.

Made to Order Rugs:

  • Crafted just for you – Each rug is hand-knotted or handwoven after your order is placed.

  • Longer lead time – Production and delivery typically take several months, depending on the rug.

  • Customization options – Some Made to Order rugs can be customized in size and color.

If you're looking for something immediately available, an In Stock rug is your best option. If you're willing to wait for a handcrafted, one-of-a-kind piece, a Made to Order rug is a beautiful investment.

How does your Benjamin Moore Color Matching Program, True to Hue, work?

Our True to Hue program is designed to help you visualize how a rug’s colors will look in your own space and lighting. We’ve carefully matched select wool hues from our rugs to Benjamin Moore paint colors, giving you a helpful reference for styling and coordinating your home. Here’s how it works:

  • Browse Our Matches: Each rug that’s part of the True to Hue program has recommended Benjamin Moore paint colors listed on its product page.

  • Order Samples: To see how the colors will appear in your space and lighting, we recommend ordering both a rug sample and a Benjamin Moore paint swatch for comparison.

  • Make Confident Design Choices: Use these color matches as a guide to create a cohesive look with your walls, trim, and décor.

Please note: True to Hue is meant to be a reference tool. Because our rugs are handcrafted, colors may vary slightly due to natural fiber variations and dye lot differences. Seeing samples in your own space ensures the most accurate color representation. This program takes the guesswork out of color coordination and helps you feel confident in your rug selection. Let us know if you need any assistance—we’re happy to help!

Do you offer samples of your rugs?

How do your rugs get their color?

The wool is dyed in small batches by skilled artisans, ensuring depth, character, and slight variations that make each rug one-of-a-kind. Because our rugs are handcrafted, slight variations in color are expected and add to their beauty and uniqueness. This artisanal process ensures each piece is truly special!
